AMAI 0.1.0, a new AI coding assistant running directly in the AmigaDOS Shell, was published on Aminet on October 9, 2026. The tool supports development in C, 680x0 assembly, ARexx and Amiga E, allowing users to inspect and modify source files and execute system commands with configurable approval modes.

AMAI 0.1.0 - AI coding assistant for Amiga
AMAI works with local AI models through Ollama or LM Studio, as well as cloud services such as Gemini and OpenAI. Communication is handled by a bridge server running on a PC, Mac or Linux machine. Separate executables are provided for 68000, 68020, 68040 and 68060 processors. The project is currently in an early development stage.
