Remote Amiga Control and Debugging: Wasabi 0.9 and Amiberry 8.4.1

Amiga developers now have two interesting tools that make remote development and debugging easier. Wasabi 0.9 enables communication with a real Amiga from a modern computer, while Amiberry 8.4.1 introduces remote program debugging in the emulator through GDB.

Wasabi supports file transfers, remote AmigaDOS command execution, debugging output capture and system call tracing. It also provides integration with AI coding assistants through the MCP protocol. Version 0.9 extends support for GadTools and MUI interface elements, adds screen change detection and reduces the memory footprint of the Amiga-side server.

Amiberry 8.4.1, meanwhile, introduces an optional GDB server that allows external debuggers to inspect 68k CPU registers and memory, execute code step by step, and use breakpoints and watchpoints. The server listens locally on TCP port 2345 and requires threaded CPU emulation to be disabled.

These two solutions represent complementary approaches to Amiga software development: Wasabi provides remote access to real hardware, including integration with AI tools, while Amiberry allows developers to inspect and debug their code in a controlled emulated environment.
