png2amiga 1.117.0 has been released (online version), updating the open-source tool for converting PNG, JPEG and WebP images into classic Amiga graphics formats. The converter supports OCS/AGA, HAM6, HAM8, EHB and Copper-controlled palette changes. Output options include IFF ILBM, raw bitplanes, C headers and source code for standalone image viewers.

The main improvement is a new exact-colour palette planner for sliced graphics modes, designed to preserve pixel art colours without unnecessary palette clustering. When the colours of individual scanlines fit within hardware limits, the converter reproduces them exactly, including preloading upcoming colours into unused palette registers.
The new --report-rows option identifies scanlines that cannot be reproduced with 1:1 colour accuracy. The web interface can also highlight these rows in red. The previous 1.116.0 release introduced six Row-Dot dithering variants, bringing the total number of available methods to 70.
